Pellegatti: Chiesa ‘would be thrilled’ to join Milan; the Rossoneri’s ‘rent to buy’ strategy

By Oliver Fisher -

The strategy of AC Milan’s owners Elliott Management is to ‘rent to buy’, it is claimed, something which could be useful in the rest of the window.

The Rossoneri have been busy over the past week as they have wrapped up the signings of Sandro Tonali from Brescia and Brahim Diaz from Real Madrid.

In Carlo Pellegatti’s latest piece for Calciomercato.com, he notes how the Milan management are using a method known in the real estate world as “Rent to Buy” – i.e. signing a player on loan with the option to make it permanent.

It is the new investment policy of the club, and will thus be able to give Pioli a midfield of absolute quality.

He adds that the club have clear ideas on future strategies, which include a squad made up of the right mix of freshness and experience.

Milan are also starting to be a fundamental point of reference for young players from all over Europe. Brahim Diaz has chosen Pioli’s team, while Federico Chiesa would be thrilled to go under the orders of his old coach.
