Massimiliano Allegri, Manager of Juventus

Pellegatti pours cold water on Allegri-Milan rumours: “Never been contacted”

Carlo Pellegatti has provided his taken on the reports surfacing which have suggested Max Allegri could return to AC Milan and replace Paulo Fonseca.

Given the struggles to find consistency in the league and with the fans getting restless, there has naturally been some suggestions that Fonseca is at risk of losing his job as head coach.

With that has come talk of who could potentially take over, and one of the most striking reports came from Sky who stated that Allegri is an idea in the event the Portuguese is sacked.

The Italian was of course in charge at Milan previously from 2010 to 2014, winning the Scudetto in 2010-11 and the Supercoppa Italiana the following season. Since then, he has had two spells at Juventus.

The journalist Carlo Pellegatti spoke about the speculation in a video on his YouTube channel, and his comments were relayed by PianetaMilan.

“In the last few days the Massimiliano Allegri issue has come up again. I have always said that I wanted him together with Ambrosini, but these are theoretical phrases. Allegri has never been contacted by Milan,” he said.

“From what is leaking out from Milanello, in the last few days, there has been great closeness from the Rossoneri management towards Paulo Fonseca.

“At this moment, for those who would like ‘Fonseca Out’, there are no grounds for him to leave Milan, according to the diktats of the Rossoneri management.”

  1. Allegri is too expensive for this trophyless cardinale. How come we can profitable with expensive coach.

We need to extend fonseca contract, fonseca is much cheaper than allegri.
