Franck Kessie’s renewal talks are set to be delayed as he is ready to depart with the Ivory Coast as part of their Olympic squad, a journalist has claimed.
According to the latest from Carlo Pellegatti on Instagram (via MilanNews), Kessie is set to be the third player from Milan to go to the Tokyo Olympics after Pierre Kalulu and Brahim Diaz who will go with France and Spain respectively.
Pellegatti has found that the 24-year-old midfielder will also participate in the Olympic tournament as one of the Ivory Coast’s over-23 players and for this reason, his renewal with Milan will take a little more time.
Tuttosport (via MilanNews) reported this morning that the Rossoneri would like to close the renewal quickly to avoid another Donnarumma/Calhanoglu saga. There is a difference between offer and demand as Milan have offered €3.8m net per season to Kessie who currently earns €2.2m, but the 24-year-old wants €6m.
