Pellegri thanks Milan and reflects on ‘good memories’ despite troubled loan spell

Torino striker Pietro Pellegri has reflected on what was a difficult loan spell at AC Milan in the 2021-22 season that ended up being over prematurely.

Pellegri joined Milan on an initial loan deal with an option to buy in the summer of 2021, but with just 127 minutes amassed and injury problems plaguing him, he ended his loan spell six months early and moved to Torino.

The 21-year-old striker is certainly having more success with the Granata as he has made 12 appearances so far this season, scoring one Serie A goal and netting twice in the Coppa Italia, finally getting the consistent playing time he was after.

Pellegri spoke in an interview with Corriere di Torino about his time at Milan which did not go how either the management or the player hoped that it would, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

“We overcame a great team, that’s what counts for my Torino. As for me, I have good memories, I respect Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara a lot, great professionals and exceptional people. Then I will always have to thank Pioli, without forgetting many of my former team-mates,” he said.
