Photo: Giroud jokingly called up as a goalkeeper by France following heroics

Olivier Giroud had to finish the game between AC Milan and Genoa in goal last night as Mike Maignan was sent off. He made a crucial save for the Rossoneri and France jokingly changed his position in the squad list.

The international break is coming up and Giroud has been called up by Didier Deschamps, just like Maignan and Theo Hernandez. Following the striker’s heroics between the sticks, France jokingly updated his position.

It remains to be seen if the same scenario will happen for Giroud while on international duty with France (most likely not!), but either way he showed his class.
