Photo: Ibrahimovic posts cryptic message about Milan on Instagram – ‘Believers’

Zlatan Ibrahimovic retired at the end of the 2022/23 season and more than a month has passed since. And with AC Milan starting their pre-season tomorrow, the Swede decided to publish a cryptic message.

There have been many rumours regarding the future of Ibrahimovic, who made it clear during his farewell presser that he will take his time. The role of club manager has reportedly been offered to him, with Milan fans hoping that he will accept.

Essentially, he would take over the role of Paolo Maldini in supporting the squad on a daily basis at Milanello. On his Instagram earlier this evening, Ibrahimovic published a photo of his retirement ceremony with the caption “Believers”.

    1. He’s as good of a motivator as Maldini and the club could use someone more relatable like him more than Baresi… I do hope he comes back in whatever capacity they are wanting Baresi to.

      1. Personality-wise, Baresi has been affected by tragedy and doesn’t have the charisma of Maldini or Ibra, so I think management is smart to go for the latter now. It’s what I would do if I owned the club but I’m glad Baresi is being “promoted” too.

        1. I generally has a pretty good memory in regard of the club and players but what tragedy are you talking about here as i couldnt see anything about such thing in his english wikipedia page?

        2. Zlatan has the potential to become influential like Galliani. He’s from Raiola’s school and is a complete alpha. He would make an epic Sporting Director.

    2. They wouldn’t have the same role but in terms of influence yeah maybe, they are both football legends with a lot of charisma and they share a deep love for the club. Zlatan could have more impact on the young generation. Can you imagine the negotiations with him, he would be like “I don’t ask you to come play for Milan, I’m commanding you” haha

      1. “You are not here to negotiate the contract, you are here to see Zlatan. Sign the contract now!”

Depends what would he do, but Pioli is praying every night this happens. His good run came with Ibra, not because of him, he can use someone to motivate players like only he can.

        1. Tough to say. Ibra had definitely has a commanding presence but Pioli has a more nurturing side with the youngsters perhaps? So like a good cop bad cop? I think I’m tandem they would do great.

Just not sure of Baresi’s impact.

    3. He was already in the team when Maldini was around. So it’s still a minus, before it was Maldini+Zlatan, if Zlatan rejoin it will be only Zlatan. Better than nothing though.

  1. If he’s in management, he doen’t ask other player to join, but the player will offer himself to join the club. 😀

  2. Zlatan coming back to be that bridge between the players and management would be great but Milan needs to hire someone that can be in charge of their sporting department. Someone who has the qualifications, experience, connections in that role. Even if they have to pay a fee to buy him out, they should identify that person and hire him, just like Elliot did when they paid to get Gazidis from Arsenal to be their CEO.
If i have one complaint about Elliot ownership is that they never hired a man who can run their sporting department a la Marota at Inter. That should be the most important hire by RedBird now

    1. They did, his name is Antonio D’Ottavio, he was formerly the director of youth scouting or something like that…

  3. If Ibra join Milan, we can safely sure that Cardinale finally admit his mistakes. why? if you cant control maldini then for sure you cant control Ibra.

if they hired ibra, something’s change. maybe they finally realize that furlani and moncada are not the one
