Paolo Maldini has done a tremendous job since he arrived at AC Milan and the Rossoneri are close to the Scudetto as a result of it. The director’s icon status has also been acknowledged in other ways.
ITA Airways, formerly Alitalia, have named one of their planes after Maldini. The latter published a photo of the plane on his Instagram and wrote the following message: It’s an honour to be part of the Legend Azzurre of ITA Airways. It’s great to have a plane with my name on it, along with other Champions who have brought our colours to the top”.

Indeed, Maldini certainly deserves his legendary status in the country and his current work with Milan is just further proof of that.
