AC Milan striker Krzysztof Piatek has revealed that he wanted the number nine shirt on his arrival at the club.
The Poland international had a wonderful first start in a Rossoneri shirt, netting twice as Milan advanced to the Coppa Italia semi-finals with a win over Napoli.
Piatek took the No.19 shirt upon arrival, but he has claimed that he had eyes on a more prestigious number.
“I wanted the number 9, but the management said that it will go to those who will succeed in winning it in,” he told Polish TV channel TVP Sport.
“In the future I want to play with the No.9 and I will do my best to earn it.”
As La Gazzetta dello Sport points out, the Rossoneri striker wants that shirt and will do everything he can to get it.
