AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli is preparing for his side to be put ‘under pressure’ by Torino tonight, and backed two forwards to show their worth.
Milan will be looking to make it five wins in a row in Serie A when they make the trip to take on Torino this evening, and Pioli has made the decision to change the attack as Divock Origi and Brahim Diaz have come in for Olivier Giroud and Charles De Ketelaere respectively.
Turin is never an easy hunting ground as the past has shown, and Pioli’s side will have to be at their best to keep the winning run going, especially given that Napoli, Atalanta, Inter and Juventus have already recorded wins this weekend.
Pioli spoke to DAZN before the game at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino to preview the game and to talk about his selections decisions, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.
What kind of a game are you expecting?
“Torino will force us to play under pressure, so when this is the case you have to know how to manage the ball well and we have the right characteristics to do so, above all with consistency.”
How is Brahim Diaz?
“He starts tonight, he comes off the back of an excellent performance. You can’t always be in top condition, so when you are, you have to make the most of these moments.”
What does Origi give that is different to other options?
“He is a complete striker: he has physicality and technique, he gives us solutions in depth. I hope he will repeat last Sunday’s performance.”
This selection today was absolute farce! I watched leao and I shook my head in regrets realizing how much Milan has fallen for such a tactless, selfish and prideful player could have been a starter in a Milan side! The midfield lacks creativity of any sort apart from the industry of tonali and grinta of pobega.. the attacking trio of leao, Diaz and messias were absolute joke! I had been seeing Milan for 2 decades I have never seen such a poor team of players! This management needs a rethink
If not for Juve mismanagement and inter off fied distraction…this Milan team is nothing short of average.
If Leao put this two chances away the give would be entirely different – he needs to learn how to be clinical…
