Pioli says his choices against Napoli won’t be affected by Osimhen’s injury

AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli has said that he will not let his starting eleven selection be influenced by the absence of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.

Speaking during his press conference on Saturday, which you can read in full here, the coach was asked about the fact that Napoli are going to be without their star striker when the two sides meet on Sunday at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

The Nigerian striker has scored 25 goals across Serie A and the Champions League this season but he suffered a muscle injury in the week and will be out of the big clash. He also risks missing the Champions League tie between the two clubs.

This is viewed as a major boost for Milan but Pioli is no going to let it affect the way that he prepares for the game.

“He is strong, it’s obvious, but Napoli have won seven consecutive games without him. My choices will not be conditioned by his presence or otherwise,” Pioli said.

It is expected that Giovanni Simeone will be the man to lead the line.
