Pioli discusses his vision for the market: “The management will only sign players with the right characteristics”

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli has inferred that any signings that arrive next month must be right from both a psychological and technical standpoint.

The Milan management are willing to invest in January but there is the worry of upsetting the balance that has been achieved, as reports have highlighted.

With the January window set to open in just over a week, there are some obvious gaps in the Milan squad that need plugging such as centre-back, midfield and possibly even a forward, but that does not mean that doing so is entirely risk free.

When asked what characteristics any reinforcements during the transfer window must have, Pioli listed the characteristics they must possess.

“They concern the way of working, professionalism and hunger. We want to improve ourselves, with quality,” he said.

“The management will only sign players with the right characteristics, not only technical but also moral. There is great collaboration between me and the club regarding the market. If there is the possibility we will try to strengthen the team.”

The fear of the management, it seems, is that a wrong signing could break this impeccable balance, which is technical but also psychological.
