Pioli explains three ways he has improved as a manager amid Milan success

By Isak Möller -

Stefano Pioli is undoubtedly one of the key men behind AC Milan’s rise from the dead, but the road to this point wasn’t always that easy for the manager. Over the course of his career, he has learned many things the hard way.

The manager was initially criticised when he arrived at Milan, seeing as his recent track record at the time wasn’t exactly that great. However, he has managed to win over the Rossoneri fans and today, he’s almost synonymous with the club.

Speaking to Mediaset, in an interview that will be aired on December 29th, Pioli was asked about his personal growth as a manager throughout his career. The Milan gaffer named three key aspects in which he has improved.

“I think I’ve improved in many things and in many situations, but above all in the two/three things that I consider to be the most important for my job. And that is the different tactical solutions, the relationship with my players and perhaps even better communication with the outside,” he stated.

Milan are currently eight points behind Napoli and will need a really strong second half of the season to catch up. Just like last season, therefore, they are sort of underdogs as few believe that they will be able to do it.
