Tuttosport: Pioli has a firm idea about the starting XI to face Sassuolo

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli is studying the right team to face Sassuolo at the Mapei Stadium on Sunday knowing anything other than defeat means his side win the title.

There are still three days to go before the game in Reggio Emilia but according to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), the idea is to confirm the starting XI for the match away against Hellas Verona which was subsequently then repeated for the win over Atalanta on Sunday.

That means that Olivier Giroud will be the starting centre-forward with Rafael Leao immovable on the left wing, Alexis Saelemaekers on the right wing despite Junior Messias’ assist off the bench and Rade Krunic behind the striker.

Regarding the midfield, that means the double pivot of Sandro Tonali and Franck Kessie should be kept in place having done well in recent games and that means Ismael Bennacer can make an impact off the bench. The back four plus Mike Maignan virtually picks itself.

  1. Stick with winning team, if we are leading by late 2nd half get Ibra a chance to play…

We want to celebrate man, been a long time and we are getting older lol

  2. Come on Pioli put Rebic on… Giroud should be taken off. He already 3 games off form.. Need Rebic for more energy up front. I think Rebic deserve to start.
