Pioli gets medal stolen during celebrations but Lega Serie A respond on social media

By Oliver Fisher -

There was an unpleasant mishap for Stefano Pioli after the game against Sassuolo as he had his league winner’s medal stolen from him.

As our colleagues at SempreMilan.it report, Pioli was given his medal as part of the ceremony during which all of the players received one too, but in the post-match press conference it became apparent his had been taken from him.

“They snatched my medal in the celebrations. If you can launch an appeal, thank you, it’s the only one I have,” he said. While nobody came forward with any information, Pioli will not have to wait long before he gets another one around his neck.

On Twitter, Lega Serie A picked up on what happened and responded as follows: “Hey Mr. Pioli, we’ll give you the medal again tomorrow.” He will get his prize back therefore to commemorate the first Scudetto in his career and perhaps this time – during the open top bus parade planned around the city – he will be extra careful to make sure it stays on him.

  1. No milan fan with just a minute ammount of honor would steal anything from our club members and frankly i would have liked the person being caught while stealing it as i would expect retribution from the crowd.

    1. I honestly couldn’t agree more! PO works so hard this season to bring our boys to a championship! I hope they find out who stole it from him. Getting another one doesn’t quite make the original getting stolen better.

      1. exactly even though it will be replaced its not the same as the one he was handed over in the scudetto ceremony so i would hope he ends up getting the original one back as soon as possible as well. Imagine knowing that guy who stole it i would beat him just out of principle and im sure lots of other milanistas would feel the same way so in the end its a medal he can only pull out of his drawer when alone that can remind him of what a horrible fan he is, so of absolutely no use for the fella unless he sells it to an even more idiotic fan. If caught a permanent ban from san siro or a new stadium would be fine with me as well so i would suggest the moron to turn it back anonymously.
