Pioli insists Milan ‘are not lacking physically’ despite the words of Meite

By Isak Möller -

Ahead of the clash between Roma and Milan tomorrow, which will take place at Stadio Olimpico, Stefano Pioli spoke at the press conference. He identified the main issues the Rossoneri have, among other things.

The Rossoneri have lost their last two consecutive league games and drew both encounters with Red Star Belgrade, advancing on away goals. When asked about the matter, Pioli outlined what his players are missing at the moment.

“We weren’t up to par on a technical/tactical level, not a physical one. We are not lacking physically, playing so much we will find the necessary rhythm. We need to miss fewer easy passes and give more solutions to our teammates,” he said, as cited by MilanNews.

After the game against Red Star Belgrade, Soualiho Meite was interviewed by MilanTV (via MilanNews) and he seemed to have a different view on the matter. As opposed to the manager, he stated that perhaps the players are a bit fatigued.

“We played a lot of games, it’s not easy to play every three days. There is a little tiredness. We have a good group, we must have the right mentality to go forward,” he stated.

No matter what the problem is, though, the important thing is to bounce back with what would be a massive win tomorrow. Not just for the standings, but also confidence-wise ahead of what will be a very demanding period.
