Pioli issues interesting response to Ibrahimovic rumours: “We’ll see what happens”

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli offered a coy response to speculation that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is closing in on a move back to the Rossoneri.

SportMediaset (via MilanNews.it) recently claimed that Ibrahimovic and Milan are closing on an agreement, while il Corriere della Sera reported that the club want to present Zlatan on December 15 at the club’s 120th birthday party.

Sporting director Ricky Massara poured cold water on the speculation when he spoke to Sky Italia ahead of Milan’s 1-0 win over Parma, claiming that there is no ongoing negotiation.

However, Monday’s edition of Tuttosport – as cited by MilanNews.it – then added that Milan are expecting an answer within the next week, with numerous outlets suggesting it will be positive.

Pioli spoke to Sky Italia following Sunday’s 1-0 win over Parma; another game which highlighted the team’s deficiencies up front as left-back Theo Hernandez was the only player on the scoresheet.

“I would be happy if there wasn’t this question,” Pioli said with a smile (via CM.it).

“We think of the next matches, within the club there are many meetings. We’ll see what happens.”
