Pioli jokes that he was not best pleased with Zlatan’s Twitter post: “I scolded Ibra for that video”

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli has jokingly revealed that he reprimanded Zlatan Ibrahimovic for releasing a video teasing his return, causing a bombardment of questions about his fitness.

Ibrahimovic teased his return on social media by uploading a video of him scoring during training. The Swede has been out injured since the 3-1 win over Napoli, and though he was close to returning for the game against Sassuolo before Christmas he suffered another muscle problem which delayed his return.

While he still wont be back for the game against Juventus on Wednesday, but it seems his recovery isn’t far away based on the clip he uploaded.

During his pre-match press conference ahead of the game against the Bianconeri, Pioli joked that he scolded Ibra for posting the video because of the flurry of questions that followed from journalists as a result.

“I scolded Ibra for that video because you then bombarded me with messages to find out if he recovered!” he said (via PM).

“He’s better, he’s working well, but he won’t be there tomorrow. Leao is growing, he doesn’t have the same characteristics as Ibra and therefore we need to understand how to serve him. I see in him a great desire to grow and improve.”
