Pioli left soon after Fiorentina game due to death of his brother-in-law

Stefano Pioli was not available for his usual post-match media commitments after the victory against Fiorentina due to a family bereavement, which is now confirmed as being the death of his brother-in-law.

With a post on their social media accounts, Milan expressed their condolences and their closeness to the head coach Pioli and his family for the loss of his brother-in-law. The tweet published reads: “AC Milan embraces the whole family of our Coach in a strong and intense embrace for the loss of dear brother-in-law Luca.”

It was reported by multiple sources that Pioli quickly headed for the exit after the dramatic win against Fiorentina that came via Nikola Milenkovic’s late goal, with some reports even saying the coach was in tears.
