CorSera: Pioli expects to have Maignan back for Tottenham Champions League tie

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli is expecting French goalkeeper Mike Maignan to be back in action for the Champions League round of 16 tie against Tottenham Hotspur, a report claims.

As has been reported by Corriere della Sera (via Milan News), the Rossoneri think that Maignan should make his highly anticipated return from injury in the near future.

With Milan seemingly unable to make any major signings in January from a financial perspective, getting into the quarter-final of the Champions League could provide some crucial additional revenue that the club may not have been expecting.

Facing Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur will not be easy but they are not having a good season under Antonio Conte.

Milan’s chances will be boosted if they have Maignan back between the sticks for the first leg on February 14 at San Siro. He has already missed 12 games and his absence is certainly being felt by the team.

  1. Not quick enough. We need him to play against Inter already. Even if still injured and walking with crutches. He’d still be more useful than the one that shall not even be mentioned now.

    1. @bb I’m beginning to hate this Pioli of a guy 🤦
He should have given a chance to the new signing VAZQUEZ but he kept on keeping faith in the useless TATA.
This guy can’t even safe anything and he’s going to cost us the top 4 this season.

      1. Same here. I respect him and am indefinitely grateful for the last 2 seasons BUT… We cannot live in the past and it really looks like he’s out of ideas and clueless on what to do. Tatarusanu is a great example how Pioli should NOT handle this situation.
