There should be double good news for Stefano Pioli to celebrate as his contract extension is very close to being announced, a report claims.
After last night’s 1-0 win over Atletico Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano to keep the Champions League knockout stage dream alive, a renewal should come in the next 24 hours too. According to Calciomercato.com, only the signatures is missing which will arrive tomorrow (Friday), after which the appropriate announcements will be made.
Pioli and Milan will go ahead together and the former Lazio and Fiorentina coach will put pen to paper on a two-year extension with the option for a third year. His salary that will rise to €3.5m net per season plus bonuses.
CEO Ivan Gazidis’ return to Italy has accelerated talks and though the parties have always been in harmony, Elliott Management have chosen to send out a signal ahead of time, by showing their faith in Pioli. After him, Theo Hernandez, Leao and Bennacer, should soon follow.
