Pioli says Milan have ‘all the cards’ to do well against Salzburg

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli has shown faith in his side to get the job done in the Champions League against RB Salzburg on Wednesday night.

Speaking during his press conference ahead of the clash at San Siro which will be the final Champions League group game of the season, Pioli did not seem to be fearful that his team does not have what it takes to get the necessary result.

“We are a strong team with important values. We know the difficulties we will find, but we have great motivations and then we will play in front of our fans. We have all the cards to do well,” Pioli said.

The Rossoneri only need to get a draw or beat RB Salzburg to book their place in the next round of the Champions League, a progression that will grant the club around €20 million in additional revenue.

Milan are one point ahead of their Austrian opposition heading into the match. If Milan were to lose, they would drop into a play-off against one of the second-placed teams from the Europa League groups.

That could mean facing a team such as Manchester United just to stay in the Europa League.
