Pioli names what he believes is the biggest strength of the current Milan squad

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli believes that the strength of his squad is quite simply that he has a lot of top-level players at his disposal.

The Rossoneri did what many did not think was possible last season as they overcame the competition from city rivals Inter and also Napoli to win the Scudetto and end their 11-year wait for a league title.

It was a rollercoaster of emotions and even heading into the final stretch the Nerazzurri were down as the favourites to make less errors, but ultimately their defeat at Bologna cost them and Milan were flawless in the last six league games.

Pioli gave a long interview to La Gazzetta dello Sport in which he talked about a number of different topics including the upcoming season, the new signings and the two new arrivals he is hoping for, and also what the strength of his team is.

“We have many high-level players. Giroud is a complete player, Rebic is very good at giving depth, Origi knows how to do everything. Divock is very attentive, I like him and he will give us satisfaction,” he said (via PianetaMilan).

“In the middle, physicality in terms of size is not so important but legs and intelligence and we have it in Tonali, Pobega, Krunic who is often unfairly underestimated and actually has incredible tactical skills.

“Obviously Bennacer: he can become a player of the highest level. And Maignan moves: not only in his saves but with his mere presence. He was the best goalkeeper in the league, although I like Szczesny a lot too.”
