CorSera: Pioli not at risk for now – the collapse is seen as a combined effort

By Oliver Fisher -

Despite having recorded four defeats in a row and attracting criticism from multiple angles, Stefano Pioli’s job as AC Milan head coach is reportedly safe for now.

Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews) report that for the moment the Rossoneri coach is not at risk of being sacked, as the club’s trust in him remains and therefore no revolution is planned for the time being,

The feeling is that everyone is responsible for the collapse suffered in 2023 so far and not just the coach who, in any case, has also made obvious mistakes in recent weeks. In the derby for example, his decision to leave the strongest player in the squad – Rafael Leao – on the bench drew a lot of scrutiny.

The Portuguese winger is not in his best moment of form and his effort with Portugal at the World Cup efforts are making themselves felt – just as they are with Olivier Giroud and Theo Hernandez who got to the final with France – but at the same time Milan can’t afford to not have a player of his talent from minute one in such a huge game.

Milan need to come back united and compact because the mission is to finish in the top four and  the goal is still within reach, as long as the team get back on the right path quickly and above all get a morale-boosting result on Friday against Torino.
