Pioli says ‘everyone has their own path’ in relation to De Ketelaere form

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli has said that ‘everyone has their own path’ when asked about the worrying form of Belgian youngster Charles De Ketelaere.

Speaking during a press conference ahead of the Torino clash, the Milan coach answered a number of questions about various players in the Rossoneri squad.

One of those singled out was De Ketelaere who joined the club from Club Brugge in the summer after a long negotiation but is yet to make a serious impact or the team.

Pioli played down the importance of the fact that that attacking midfielder has not carved out a consistent starting place for himself yet, making it clear that things happen in different time frames for different players.

“It’s difficult to make predictions, everyone has their own path. Then it may be that tomorrow we all praise De Ketelaere for the goal or the play he made. When there is quality, intelligence and availability there are all the characteristics to make a talent blossom into a great player. The important thing is to continue to work with this desire, with this willingness, with this passion that we all have here at Milanello,” Pioli said.

In what will likely be music to De Ketelaere’s ears, the coach also stressed that there is no impatience in the training ground and from the club in regard to his development.

“We have five very important games for our present and future, all the players are focused on these. At Milanello there is no impatience, we have the foresight and calmness to understand the path of a young boy, what interests us is quality, intelligence and availability: they are all there with him.”

    1. Seriously hope you are kidding because that is a ridiciulous statement.
Do you believe we should have kept castilejo ? no ? well he has better stats in spain than hauge currently has in the jupiler league in belgium.

    1. He most likely left milan because ståle solbakken (norway international coach) made it clear in a televised interview that if players wanted to be called up to the national team they would have to play regularly for their respective clubs. The fact that he was down in the pecking order and seemingly wasnt willing to fight for his spot seems we made the right choice in offloading him and his time after milan proves us right in that sale as things stands.
