Luka Romero could get the chance for AC Milan in the upcoming games as Samuel Chukwueze has sustained an injury. Stefano Pioli confirmed that the youngster has done very well in training.
Chukwueze sustained an injury while on international duty with Nigerian and it’s been reported that he will be out for around a month. This means that Christian Pulisic and Luka Romero are the only right-wingers available.
Compared to last season, Pioli certainly has good depth in that position and was asked about Romero during today’s presser (read in full here). He praised the youngster and more or less confirmed that he will get the chance in the upcoming games.
“The best alternative is certainly Romero who is doing very well. I will be very happy if he finds space in these matches due to the way he is training, the quality and intensity he puts into his work.
“I’m very calm if Pulisic has to rest, because Romero is definitely ready. Musah could also play there, with other characteristics. Okafor a little less: it’s true that he plays as a winger, but he prefers to play on the left,” he stated.
Romero scored a screamer for Milan in the pre-season against Real Madrid but has only made a few appearances off the bench this season. Chukwueze’s injury has thus given the 18-year-old a great chance to shine.
Would love to see Romero get some minutes.
What I most want to see in this match against Juventus is Rafa having a stellar performance, to definitively shut the fvck up of Sacchi, who completely lost the plot. I will always be grateful for what he did for Milan between 87/90, but frankly, the truth is that he has only been talking nonsense in recent years.
For me, Romero is a very neat player and would be delighted to see him inflict some damage upon Juventus.
Be nice to see Romero get some minutes and show what he can do. Not sure how good he is yet
The negative being, if Romero makes an impact in these games, where does that leave Chucky?
His start thus far could not really have gone worse
This is strange comment to make. So we will have three great wingers instead of zero. And since Pulisic can actually play almost anywhere and Chucku is made of glass (as you can see) we desperately need Romero to be great.
The main problem is that Chukwueze cost Milan almost 30 million and has so far not lived up to that price tag. Romero arrived for free so we can afford to be patient with him. But with Ckukwueze we need more impact early on…
Most people believe that Romero cannot play no. 9. I’d rather prefer pulisic, okafor on the right wing Romero and Giroud upfront. Romero can do well as a striker. He doesn’t have the skills to dribble alitle and curve the ground and areal crosses as other wingers do. Let Romero and Giroud play the 9 role.
