As Junior Messias and Alexis Saelemaekers are struggling to hit form on the right flank, Stefano Pioli could turn to a player that hasn’t featured since December, namely Samu Castillejo.
Messias and Saelemaekers have scored seven goals combined this season and lately, they haven’t been productive at all. The Brazilian played from start against Bologna last night but was extremely poor, subbed off after just 45 minutes. And Saelemaekers wasn’t even brought on.
As our colleagues at SempreMilan.it highlight, Pioli could turn to what might not be a popular solution: to relaunch Samu Castillejo. The Spaniard has only amassed 122 minutes all season but at this point, given the form of the others, giving him a chance might be a welcome decision.
Castillejo has continued to train hard at Milanello despite the lack of playing time, last featuring in December against Napoli (12 minutes) and is probably eager to show his worth. Pioli is thinking about the solution and we will have to wait and see.

Agree worth trying Samu to see what he can do — Messias and Saele terrible so can’t be worse than them.
But I actually thought Rebic did good things for us vs Bologna and if Samu can’t perform, then Rebic is a much better answer than Messias or Saele.
Its a good gamble: he need playing time to get a good offer for next season and he can´t be worse than Messias/Saele

O.K. I get all the Saele. dislike/hate , but you cannot contribute if you get no playing time or start the game . coming off the bench with 5 minute left is no way to judge or value, at RW he at least pushes towards the middle of the pitch and shoots/passes directly at goal rather than get down in the corner and lose the ball. This crap down in the corner looking for a header is counter productive since not only do you have the defender, but the touch and byline working against you. Pioli has everything to win and nothing to lose,Start Ibra, Rebic at the 10 and Saele at RW. Too many headers, need more direct shots at goal from narrower angle in front of net. To beat Milan all you have to do is clog the box with defenders. Bologna, Giroud in box marked by 3 or 4 defenders. I did notice Leao when marked by two defenders has now been instructed by Pioli to pass to center of pitch of to a cutting Theo or who ever is at the 10. BTW our passing sucks.
And I do like Samu alot , but what he has done to be in Pioli’s doghouse is beyond me. If Pioli thinks he is a crappy player then put him on the pitch and prove your point Stefano.
