AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli is hoping to have Theo Hernandez back and available for the game against Sassuolo on Sunday, and also hopes he will find form again soon.
MilanNews report that Milan resumed training at Milanello yesterday after the defeat at Lazio but Theo Hernandez – who missed the away match in Rome due to muscle fatigue – trained separately and continued his recovery work. His physical problem is nothing serious and therefore he should be back in a very short time, probably in time for Sunday’s game.
In such a difficult moment it is important that Pioli can lean on the players who gave him guarantees last season, of whom Theo is one. Beyond the technical and tactical aspect, the full-back is also one of the leaders of this team and while he may have been feeling the strain of a long World Cup campaign, we are now almost in February.
After the defeat in the Supercoppa against Inter, Theo was one of the few Rossoneri to write something on social media as he said: “Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Never give up and always go forward. Come on guys! Thanks for your support.”
These are the words of a leader and words of a player who knows well that the moment is difficult, but also from a crucial player who must pick up his form, otherwise Milan simply will not be as strong as they were in 2022.
