PM: Confidence increases regarding Kessie’s renewal as possible meeting point emerges

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are determined to keep Franck Kessie and tie him down to a new long-term contract as soon as possible, a report claims.

According to PianetaMilan, now that Milan have secured the permanent signings of Fikayo Tomori, Sandro Tonali and Mike Maignan, one of the main targets for the management is the renewal of Kessie. After the farewells of Gianluigi Donnarumma and Hakan Calhanoglu, the Rossoneri cannot lose the midfielder, who became a leader last season with 14 goals in 50 appearances.

The confidence in Kessie’s renewal has increased even though the latest offer of €5m net per season made by Milan was rejected by his agent George Atangana. The parties are getting closer and while the 24-year-old Ivorian continues to ask for €6m per year to renew, it is possible that an agreement can be found halfway at €5.5m by inserting easily accessible bonuses.

Kessie wants to stay at Milan, and therefore there should be no twists, with the Diavolo showing faith to keep their President.

  1. Ya ya…I will believe it when he signs a new contract. Didn’t we feel confident about re-signing Hakan and Donnaruma?? Look how that turned out. We are becoming a fkn joke. And fkn sell Romagnoli if he doesn’t renew this summer.
