PM: Milan eyeing €30m-rated RB Leipzig striker as perfect end to window

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are still hoping to cap off their summer transfer window with the signing of a striker, according to a report, and the number one target has emerged.

According to PianetaMilan, the management could look to loan Lorenzo Colombo out and sign a replacement who offers more guarantees as a deputy to Olivier Giroud, given Noah Okafor is a very different type of player.

An opportunity could emerge amid the ever-changing landscape of the mercato such as Mehdi Taremi, who amassed 31 goals and 14 assists in 51 games last season for Porto, or even Romelu Lukaku who could become an option on loan with an option to buy.

The third name is the one that Milan like the most: Benjamin Šeško. The Slovenian centre-forward moved last January from Salzburg to Leipzig (both clubs owned by Red Bull) for €24m but it only became effective on 1 July.

Last season in Austria, he scored 18 goals and provided 4 assists in 41 games. However, he could be instantly allowed to leave because Timo Werner and Loïs Openda are ahead of him in the pecking order. A €30m initial price has been set.

  1. Didn’t they just sign him? Impossible. But maybe Redbull can do Redbird a favor lol

It would be awesome but I don’t see it happening

  2. Young Zlatan.
Higher ceiling than Haaland, if he continues to develop his game.
Would be the ideal signing, but even if Leipzig decides to sell no way it will be for only 30 mil.
Hojlund went for 75, Sesko isn’t going for less than 50

    1. Tbf if we start the amortization payments from next year, I don’t think a 50M ST buy is unrealistic as they said they want to spend big next summer on a striker

  3. Red bull just sold Joško to shiiity for 90M. They sold Dominik for 70M and Chris for 60M. You think they’ll let Šeško go for 30M?
    pf

    1. They also reinforced their attack massively so it’s probably not as unrealistic as you’d think, I’m sure if we gave them a hefty loan plus a 50M obligation they’d accept

      1. Let them eat the players now if there can’t sell any of them for does amount Milan I know won’t patronized that offer

      2. Well if Šeško is as good as people say he will kick Werner out of starting 11 in no time.. in they use 442 šeško and openda will be the 2 st

      3. It is impossible, why would they let a striker go for less than 80 who in a years time will be worth more than 100? Red Bull are not stupid

  4. Loan with option/obligation to buy sounds realistic. Signing a big striker will always cost money, and hopefully this is one of the few position we will have to strenghten next window anyways.

  5. I don’t get why it’s called a bad thing that okafor is a different player then giroud. Obviously giroud is not very good anymore right now at what he is doing so a different attacking style would be good for Milan. I think we should at least try okafor as attacker. 🙄

  6. Does anyone really believe Leipzig will sell him for 30M when the paid 24M just a shot time ago????? Hahahahahahaha!!! Keep dreaming! First they aren’t selling this summer and second Leipzig are not stupid and they never sell for cheap – so more like 50M if not more.

Huge miss on Veliz. Go after Wahi. He’s avail for 30-35M

Realistically – I don’t see us spending these kinds of fees on a striker this summer although we def should. Not getting a #9 could be our downfall. Spending all this $$$ on mids and not on a #9 and relying on a 37yr old Giroud to lead the line and an inexperienced, young and below average player in Columbo as the main back up (with Origi frozen out of the team) is a HUGE gamble. Heads should definitely role if they *uck this up

      1. I think we are out of that race buddy. Lots of prem clubs and psg seem interested. We can’t compete .

He’d be a great signing though

    1. For once, I actually think Wahi is a good idea. Rare occasion I agree with you.

And as far as a CB, low cost Rafael Toloi from Atalanta is good.

      1. YAWN. Buddy I couldn’t give a *hit if you or anyone else ever agrees with me or not. We are all just on here to share our opinions and passion for the team and none of us actually know more than the people who do this day in and day out. Unfortunately this forum has turned into more insulting people than anything else…sad. Your kinda new to this chat and somewhat of a weird kid – you respond 50 times to one post and go on these crazy rants calling people dumb if they disagree with you rather than for intentionally misstating or making up facts.

You sure your really not @Pioli???

        😂😂😂

  7. Incredibly I think there may be some truth in this. He’s not playing tonight against Bayern, but is on the bench, I think like with Okafor he’s our true target and has been for some time, not Veliz, Tehrami etc…and has gone under the radar.

He could be a great signing though: perhaps a loan with option will be the goal at this stage

  8. I see for now Okafor is enough. All his games that I’ve watched, he has played CF. Pulisic should be the one being talked about for a LW role(And he’s versatile across the front) . Then next summer I guess some other opportunities may arise.
