The game against Vicenza on Saturday will be another welcome run out for AC Milan before the new season, and a midfielder should be welcomed back into the fold.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via SempreMilan.it), the news from Milanello is that Saturday’s preseason finale against Vicenza should mark a return to game action for Tommaso Pobega. The 23-year-old midfielder has in fact recovered from muscle fatigue and returned to training with the rest of the squad yesterday.
Pobega is currently considered as a key cog in the midfield by head coach Stefano Pioli given that he is third choice in the hierarchies behind Ismael Bennacer and Sandro Tonali while waiting for a replacement for Franck Kessié from the mercato.
It will be another chance to see the former Spezia and Torino loanee in action in view of the official start of the season against Udinese at San Siro on August 13.
A brilliant Italian National team player
His match against Vicenza could very well condition our the search of a new midfielder.
If he shows he can hold the fort, signing a youngster (or even nobody) could be a viable option.
