ESPN: PSG in talks with Milan and Man Utd stars as part of mission to keep Mbappe

By Oliver Fisher -

Paris Saint-Germain seem to be willing to make a serious attempt to land Franck Kessie on a free transfer and it is part of a plot to keep Kylian Mbappe, a report claims.

There is a lot of noise regarding what will happen with Kessie’s future given his deal expires at the end of the season and Fabrizio Romano said on his Here We Go podcast (via TransferZone) that Milan ‘will try again’ to extend the Ivorian’s contract in the coming weeks or months, but ‘could be a great opportunity for many clubs’ if he does leave the Rossoneri as a free agent.

According to ESPN (via MilanNews), PSG believe that they need a top level midfielder to boost the squad and contacts are underway with the entourage of two who are very highly regarded in Paul Pogba of Manchester United and Franck Kessie of Milan.

PSG would like to convince Kylian Mbappé to reject the tempting advances of Real Madrid and stay in the French capital and they believe the way to do that is by boosting all areas of the squad with high profile names.

  1. Don’t get how Kessie’s contract talk affects Kylian Mbappe’s signing a renewal.

Anyways, Kamara can be gotten for about €5m now, that’s like agreeing to pay Kessie what he’s demanding. I don’t still see why Milan is letting themselves get distracted by this guy.

Arrigo Sacchi explained that these days footballers have somehow developed a nonchalant attitude towards clubs and their contracts. Milan should take a cue from this and move on. If there ever was a player they shouldn’t have let go, then it’ll be Dona. But they let him go, don’t see why they shouldn’t let Kessie go too.

  2. Was it wolves or some EPL club wanting to pay €55m for this guy a couple of seasons ago? If those rumors were true, how did we miss that money?

    1. The report was that Wolves wanted him for €35 (loan with option). Kessie wanted to remain at Milan and the club didn’t sell him too because they felt he will be integral to the club’s resurgence. This of course turned out to be true, and now Kessie sees himself as a superstar and he thinks he deserves to be on Ibra’s pay-scale.

I don’t blame him much he has the right to ask for any amount he wants…, the ineptitude displayed by the Milan Management is annoying , I understand that Maldini and Massara are probably doing this job for the first time in their lives, but you can’t make 1 good move and then make 3 bad ones after, and expect applauds and gratitude. It was proactive of them to quickly bring in Magnian when Donnarumma continually left his renewal to probability. But what did they do after that to strengthen midfield?? Loan out Pobega who was the best midfielder in preseason, and bring in an already injured Bakayoko to replace him.

Of all the players linked with Milan for the RW position, they panicked and threw money at signing Messias and lying that they’ve been following the player for a while (this was after they kept repeating the need to inject youth into the squad).

Brahim Diaz has never been convincing, his lapses were always covered by Leao, Rebic, Theo, and Ibra. As soon as Chala left, panic by the management led us to begging Madrid for their bench-warmer. A player like Diaz can only end up having a career like Bakayoko, were you aren’t good enough to start for your parent club, but they still hold out on you, hoping they’ll get a good deal from a club foolish enough to want you, so they don’t lose their asset for cheap or free.

We learn everyday, and one thing I can say to the management is “Stick to your Guns”. If you say you need youth, please sign youth with prospect. If you say you don’t have enough money to pay what a player is demanding for a renewal, then quickly sell or look for a replacement like we did with Donna, there no time to play romance in negotiations. It seems players value money more than sportsmanship, so let’s treat it for what it is, “BUSINESS”.

      1. What else did they do? You answered your own question dipshit. Leao who is now being called the next Henry, Theo who was bought for 20m and is now worth at least 60m, Messias, who is no Messi, but at 4.5m is producing at RW when they had not a cent more to spend, Rebic who has also been productive, Tonali bought for a discount AFTER already having made an agreement, Tomori at 28m when he could (should) have fetched 40m. The club s on a budget and STILL, btw, under FFP oversight. Dipshit.
