Pulisic explains what ‘beautiful’ Pioli does so well: “I feel the confidence”

By Oliver Fisher -

Christian Pulisic seems to have returned to his best since he joined AC Milan during the summer window, and he owes a chunk of that to Stefano Pioli.

Pulisic arrived at Milan having had a difficult last couple of years with Chelsea but he appears to have found his groove again, having netted four goals for the club in Serie A this season already.

The most recent one was a late winner against Genoa before the international break, a goal which propelled the Rossoneri above Inter into first place, and there is already a feeling that the goals from the USA international could play a big part in the Scudetto battle.

Pulisic gave an interview in today’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport during which he shared his thoughts on the first few months he has had at Milan, and as part of that he was asked what impact Pioli has had.

“Beautiful. He’s an excellent coach, as well as being a person of great depth. He encourages you to give your best without cutting you any slack, but he’s also ready to energise you and help you when you do make mistakes. I feel the confidence from him and that’s something fantastic for a player. I’m really happy to have him as a coach.”

  1. You gotta say.. Pioli is a great coach. He has done a lot. Could he do more? Sure, he can. He’s at Milan! Can he play some players more? Can he strengthen the tactics? DUH. But so far, his achievements, by far, outnumber his mistakes. I support him!
