Pulisic confident Milan can ‘bounce back’ and admits he should have scored – video

By Isak Möller -

Christian Pulisic was visibly disappointed after AC Milan’s loss against PSG last night, having missed a huge opportunity himself in the second half. However, he’s confident that the Rossoneri can bounce back.

It was a tough evening for Stefano Pioli and his men who couldn’t keep up with the pace of PSG. As a result, they are now last in the group with just two points. They are still alive, though, as Newcastle and Dortmund are just two points ahead.

Speaking to CBS Sports after the game (see the video below), Pulisic shared his thoughts on how to bounce back from the tough defeat. He also assured that Milan are a ‘confident bunch of guys’ amid concern regarding the current morale.

On how to move forward…

“Yeah, we have to focus on the next game. You know we’re not out of it yet, we just need to string a couple of wins together. We’ve had some tough games and some tough stadiums, but that’s not an excuse. We need to turn it around and we need to win.”

What has changed between the start of the season and now?

“It’s difficult to say, we weren’t clinical enough, I have to put a chance away today. It’s on us, we just have to keep working, it’s just not flowing right now.

What did Pioli say after the game?

“We will speak after, I think we just have to keep our heads up and it doesn’t feel like a game we should lose 3-0 I think is the message. We’re in the game for most of it and we just let it slip away.”

Have injuries affected the last period?

“Obviously, it’s tough. You never want to lose players to injuries but it’s not an excuse, we still need to come out here and win games.”

How is the confidence of the team right now?

“We’ll be fine going forward, we’re a confident bunch of guys. We have another game in a couple of days and we can bounce back.

  1. milan needs another DM right now…. i know that we need a striker too, but with the full team, we can use Okafor at least, Krunic is not good enough with the ball and Adlie lacks the physicality… but i sure like Adli, i think he should have had the chance last year and by now he would have been better, he can build some muscle and be more physical and thats all about working hard in the gym… it would have been nice to see him with some physicality, he would be a complete DM… we really need Bennacer, i think Milan will be a lot stronger with him as our DM

    1. RLC and Benna are the player who have physicality but sadly both are injured. But yeah i agreed we really need a good DM who can filter the attack and steal the ball from the opponents.

  2. Pulisic needs to raise his final striking ability to another level. He might do it, and he may not. The potential is there. Some great players took time to perfect their game and didn’t have a complete package until later in their career.
However, he DOES give the team opportunities, even if he doesn’t always strike the final blow. Other players aren’t even providing the opportunities. His run he missed the shot on was beautiful (the Maignan pass even more beautiful). His through pass to Leao was beautiful. But he needs to take the bull by the horns and deliver the final blow.
He’s also a team player, which hurt him a bit on the missed shot. Leao right now, though more talented, is trying to do too much from too far out, and could learn from Pulisic’s team outlook.
