Pulisic jokes about coming back to the US: “It won’t help me learn Italian”

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan travelled to Los Angeles on Friday morning and had their first training session earlier today. Ahead of the clash against Real Madrid, new signing Christian Pulisic spoke to the media about his move.

The Rossoneri will take on Real Madrid, Juventus and Barcelona during their pre-season tour in the United States. The first clash, as mentioned, is against the Bernabeu side and it will be played at 4m CEST on Monday.

Speaking to the media present at today’s press conference, as cited by MilanPress, Pulisic once again shared his thoughts on moving to Milan. Down below are the interesting bits from his press, in the interest of not being too repetitive.

On the American tour…

“I’m very happy to be back home in America, and very happy to be here with Milan.”

On choosing to play for Milan…

“I chose Milan because I had a conversation with Pioli, and I immediately understood that I need to go to Milanello. The coach wants me to be aggressive, direct and to score goals. That’s why I’m here, I can’t wait to get started.”

What it’s like to come back to the US?

“It won’t help me learn Italian, because I’ll be speaking English to everyone, but it’s a good feeling.”

On facing Real Madrid…

“It’s strange to start playing tomorrow, we have only been here for a short time and I’ve been at Milan for a few days. We will try to give our best in this competition. The pre-season is important.”

The clash against Real Madrid will be played at the Rose Bowl (which has a capacity of 100k) and the game is sold out. Pulisic could play from the first minute and we could perhaps see an appearance from Tijjani Reijnders as well.

  1. The Rose Bowl is an old but magnificent stadium, the site of the 1994 World Cup final where Roberto Baggio hit his PK over the crossbar and Italy lost to Brazil.
100,000 fans watching this match will be quite a treat for everybody.
Pulisic seems to be happy to be with Milan, finally out of the Chelsea circus.

    1. Ain’t that the truth! Chelsea was a horrible move for him from the start. The simple fact he was able to get out of that cycle could revitalize his career. Not going to lie…I wish they were playing in better cities inclding Dallas.
