Christian Pulisic spoke to the media after AC Milan’s 3-1 win over Bologna and among other things, he shared his thoughts on the importance of beating the Rossoblu on Wednesday.

Tonight’s clash has been seen as a game of preparation by both sets of fans, with Milan and Bologna taking on each other in the Coppa Italia final on Wednesday. In other words, the Rossoneri passed with flying colours even if a comeback was needed.

Speaking to Sky Italia and DAZN after the game, as transcribed by MilanNews, Pulisic shared his thoughts on the win and how much it would mean to lift the Coppa Italia trophy. Titles make a difference seems to be the message from the American.

On the win…

“We have found a bit of continuity and it’s important for us.”

On the Coppa Italia final…

“If you win two titles, you can’t say it’s a bad season.”

On the season and Conceicao…

“We are not satisfied with the season. We try to work as best we can with him. We want to finish the season in the best possible way.”

On the fans’ contribution…

“They always bring a lot of energy for us, the fans are very important and we need them on Wednesday.”

A comeback Milan…

“This team has a great spirit. Our fans always help us, as do those who come in (pointing to Gimenez).”

How much does Gimenez deserve these goals?

“A lot. The MVP award should have been his.”

With one goal and one assist, the winger was handed a 7/10 in our player ratings, so nearly as good as Santiago Gimenez at 7.5/10. If it hadn’t been for a good chance missed in the first half, Pulisic would have got the same.

  1. “If it hadn’t been for a good chance missed in the first half, Pulisic would have got the same.” Two goals and an assist gets you the same rating as two goals? SMH.

    1. I don’t like that he thinks it is not a bad season with two domestic trophies. The objectives set at the start of the summer was to win the league and the team is sitting 8th today and can go down to 9th after tomorrow. It is a bad season. But the fans and the players to a degree can not feel like it was a complete shit show if this team wins the coppa Italia next week.

He doesn’t seem to understand the expectations if he believes sitting at mid table this season after coming in 2nd last season is acceptable or avoid the title of calling this season a bad one.

    2. Puli had one goal and an assist. Gimenez scored the winning goal so makes sense to get a higher rating.

      1. Puli’s goal was the game winner. Santi scored the tying goal, and then also an insurance goal at the end. Great performances by both!

  2. The imbeciles said over and over again that 4th spot in Serie A is the only goal. So it’s a bad season. Meanwhile Inter is having a great season. Again. What they have and Milan don’t are smart spendings and people with football knowledge at the helm. Redbird competing with Eagles for worst investment funds in football.

      1. I agree with you flossonero! If you had told me at the start of the season, we would win two trophies, qualify for Europa and play Inter 5 times, winning 3 and drawing 2? I would take that every day and twice on Sundays!!

Inter could, come in Second in the Scudetto race, Runner ups in Champions league and 3rd place in Copa Italia!! (I know there is no 3rd place game, however, if there was i’m sure their B team would beat Empoli)!

          1. I am counting on PSG finally overcoming Their Curse of Mbappe (known in the USA as The Ewing Theory – the teams that Patrick Ewing, a supposed superstar NBA basketball player ALWAYS did better, winning championships even, either when he was injured and not playing, or AFTER he had left that team) and finally winning their first CL.
The Soccer Gods can see this win for PSG coming from miles (kilometers) away.

          2. P.S. Mbappe proved just how destructive he is to team cohesiveness this season. Just look at how good Real Madrid was last season BEFORE Mbappe joined them. His very presence forced three of Real’s other top players to have to PLAY AROUND HIM, in positions that were not ideal for them. So he actually totally made Real a WORSE TEAM

      2. So what? Who cares about other clubs do? What a loser mentality, let’s justify a bad season by comparing to others…

  3. Pulisic covered more ground than anyone else on the pitch, played defense, but these things don’t matter if you fail to provide goals and assists. 6.8

  4. We shouldn’t celebrate 8th place but at least we can celebrate wininng 2 trophies aswell as qualifying for a Europa leauge spot after a terrible first half of the season. And what can u expect when we had 2 different managers throughout the season, We had no hope of gtting top 6 so atleast we can be appreciative of the fact we are even getting a Europa leauge spot… Instead of complaining, we should be grateful that we are back to winning ways and especially against inter which we have not lost to at all after being beat by them 6 times in a row….
