Pulisic on ‘surreal’ ending to Genoa clash and his goal: “I don’t want to stop”

By Isak Möller -

Christian Pulisic was one of the heroes for AC Milan in their 1-0 win against Genoa earlier this evening, finding the back of the net in the final minutes. After the game, he shared his thoughts on the madness.

Madness indeed, because Olivier Giroud had to finish the game in goal due to Mike Maignan’s red card. The veteran striker ended up making one crucial stop for the Rossoneri, which was heavily celebrated by his teammates.

Speaking to MilkanTV, as cited by MilanNews, Pulisic shared his thoughts on his goal and also the save of Giroud. He stated that it was ‘surreal’ to see his teammate making the save in the dying minutes.

“It was surreal to see Olivier in goal, but it was incredible and we are all happy. We played against a defensive team, it wasn’t easy. I like scoring goals and helping the team win, it’s one of my best starts in terms of goals scored, I don’t want to stop here.”

Milan will take on Juventus after the break and Pulisic is bound to start in that game, having shown his qualities this evening. Now, however, he will get some time to rest even if US duty is on the cards.

  1. I guess he wasn’t only signed for marketing purposes and and t-shirt sales as the clueless media in Italy and some devastated fanboys in here thought. He is also a very good player who is banging goals and has possibly been Milan best performing player so far this season.
    Keep it up Pulisic

  2. Because he is considered one of the best of the Americans, he learned in the States surrounded by average players, you win if you score, so whenever he sees the ball headed in he gets in the mix, always hanging around like a “Landshark”……yep Pulisic “Landshark”

  3. Even at his age he is likely the most dynamic player ever to play for the US. Gio Reyna and Folarin Balogun may prove to be in the same class but still have a lot to show. Injuries are really the only thing that has held Pulisic back.

  4. I’m just worried that the numbskull USMNT coach Gregg Berhalter will overplay him in the next two friendlies agaibst Germany and Ghana.
I hope Pulisic is smart enough to play things safe and slow, even if he gets a horrible grade in those matches.
Milan need him back at full strength, not like last time, going into the derby

  5. I think it’s fair to say he’s by far been the best signing for Milan so far. Without him we’d have awful points in serie A. Instead we’re top of the table. Excellent signing and exceeding expectations in a big way. Fantastic!

  6. Yes pulisic .Loftus cheek ( can’t wait to have him back )
What brilliant signings . Pulisic / Leao / Giroud ..what a trident to have …The form of tomori , truly sensational at the moment …We have a good squad of players .
We got a result against Genoa ..not a good game ,but hey we hung in and won ..great do or die attitude of our team ..what can I say about Olivier Giroud..Yes a firm favourite of mine ..He will be very important for us in the coming games …He is a winner ,,,never thought I would ever see him playing in goal 🙃🙃🙃
The passion of the man is amazing ..
We have a great squad and a great manager pioli .
We are top of the leauge ..We can definitely win the scuddeto this season ..great goal pulisic ..

  7. Can we please get a fit and well-rested Pulisic after the next international break, unlike last time? We saw what happened when he played for the USA a few days before the Inter game.. he was barely recognisable.

    1. Chuk will have to step up his game to allow for a good rotation in the right wing. Until then, and unfortunately with all these “breaks”, we will always risk losing players.
