Tuttosport: Pulisic to undergo ‘thorough examinations’ due to injury fears

Friday, by all accounts, was pretty torrid, but it was made worse by Christian Pulisic’s injury, given he has been so key for AC Milan this season.

There have been few players in Serie A as consistent as Pulisic this season, and whilst the American’s position has been regularly changed, his numbers have remained heavily positive. The attacker is a leading presence in the contribution charts, and Milan, reportedly, cannot do without him.

It seems they will be forced to, though.

Against Atalanta, the 26-year-old was forced to come off in the first half due to an injury, and whilst Tuttosport (via Milan News) reports that initial talks were of soreness, it seems the problem is worse. The report suggests that the American is suffering from a muscle injury, and will undergo ‘thorough examinations’ to find the cause.

Based on initial suggestions, Pulisic will seemingly be absent for the next 2-3 weeks – and this would see him miss the games against Red Star Belgrade, Genoa and Verona. Should this be the case, he could be available for the game against Roma, but whether he would be risked before the Supercoppa Italiana is unknown at present.

Paulo Fonseca is now forced to do without Pulisic, a card he has not been dealt yet, and his absence will test him.

  1. Considering the matches we have the next 2-3 weeks the timing couldn’t have been better. Teams such as Verona *should* be won even without our MVP.

    1. Remember Napoli? Juve? Literally any game without him starting (Except a sassuolo which rested players) we’ve struggled in attack? After he was subbed off, we were USELESS. A VERY heavy asterisk is definitely appropriate.

    1. I’d like to see that modified 4-4-2 we played earlier in the season. Fonseca claimed it was 4-2-3-1 but it didn’t play like that. What about Leão playing more centrally upfront with Okafor on the left?
