QS: Ibrahimovic renewal could help Donnarumma talks but Raiola wants €10m per season

By Oliver Fisher -

Giving Zlatan Ibrahimovic a one-year renewal could help push through a new deal for Gianluigi Donnarumma, according to a report.

According to Thursday’s edition of the newspaper QS (via MilanNews), technical director Paolo Maldini and CEO Ivan Gazidis offer a contract extension to Ibrahimovic in the coming weeks.

With four goals in two Serie A starts, the Swede is continuing to show that age is merely a number to him and the club believe it is absolutely possible for him to keep playing until he is in his 40s.

Ibrahimovic’s renewal could also facilitate talks over Donnarumma’s new contract too. The goalkeeper strongly wants to renew with Milan and his agent Mino Raiola – who also looks after Zlatan’s interests – would be willing to accept a salary of €10m per season net.

That is of course a substantial increase from his current €6m per year, so it remains to be seen what the strategy of the Rossoneri management is.
