Raiola gives update on ‘optimistic’ Ibrahimovic renewal talks and ‘sensitive’ Donnarumma issue

By Oliver Fisher -

Agent Mino Raiola has revealed that he is talking with AC Milan regarding a new deal for Zlatan Ibrahimovic but there is no agreement yet.

For weeks now there have been reports in the media suggesting Ibrahimovic’s renewal is a formality despite a difference between the demands of the Swede from a salary point of view and the offer from the Rossoneri.

Every single outlet has claimed that Ibrahimovic wants to stay and that there is optimism regarding the outcome of the negotiation, yet there is still nothing to suggest his signing is imminent.

Both MilanNews and Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio are reporting that the 38-year-old will not be at Milanello on Monday to undergo his COVID-19 test ahead of Tuesday’s return to training.

Speaking to Sky, Raiola gave an update on the situation, and even spoke about the renewal of Gianluigi Donnarumma too, giving nothing away.

“I think he won’t be there tomorrow, for the moment. We are talking but there is still no agreement,” he said (via MilanNews).

“It is not a question of money but of conviction and style. A marriage is made with two and if Ibrahimovic did not have the will to stay with the Rossoneri, there would be no negotiation. I’m optimistic, I don’t work to create problems but to find solutions.”

On Donnarumma, he added: “I haven’t talked about Gigio, I don’t want to talk. It is a very sensitive issue with the fans. The club has other priorities right now and now is not the right time to talk about it.”
