Ranieri praises Pioli for ‘never giving up’ and recent success with Milan

Since taking over in October 2019, Stefano Poli has done a tremendous job with this AC Milan. This was obviously highlighted when the Rossoneri secured their 19th Scudetto last month, completing a great journey to the top.

The next step for the manager and Milan, of course, is to be competitive in the Champions League as well. They finished last in their group this past season, facing Liverpool, Atletico Madrid and Porto, and they will want to do better next season.

Speaking to RAI, as cited by our colleagues at SempreMilan.it, legendary manager Claudio Ranieri spoke about Pioli, his former player. He praised the 56-year-old for never giving up and for taking this Milan side to the top.

“Pioli was a great player for me at Fiorentina and he’s giving a lot to Italian football. I like him for never giving up. He has grown a lot and he’s making Milan play really well,” he stated.

One can only agree with the former Leicester City manager and his words surely mean a lot to Pioli. Hopefully, Milan will continue to do well next season. It would be very surprising if that doesn’t end up being the case.
