AC Milan are waiting for a response from Marcus Rashford regarding their offer, and from there the January window could spring into life.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan are facing a crossroads whereby each avenue has each has advantages and disadvantages. It remains to understand which direction to go, but we do know a couple of certainties already.
The first: Milan have made an attacking signing the priority, so they are waiting for Rashford and Manchester United, knowing that finding a three-way agreement is not easy at all. The second: Kyle Walker would be happy to join the Rossoneri, and he too is waiting.
The ‘Rashford Road’
With Rashford, Milan would have an extra striker and a left winger, who can also play in other positions. If the Cagliari match suggested that Milan struggle against deep blocks, the Englishman could provide an added bit of inspiration.
With his arrival, the slots for non-EU and British players would be used up, so they would have to find the defender they are looking for elsewhere. Sergio Conceiçao would become even more important because the big enigma with Rashford concerns his attitude and application.
It would be a big challenge for the coach and one that he has to get right, because signing the 27-year-old would mean raising the wage bill quite a bit, and even then they have to convince the player and United to contribute significantly.
The ‘Walker Way’
Walker is more than a plan B. He has won the Champions League, the Club World Cup, six Premier Leagues and yet would gladly come to Milan. On paper, this is a perfect way to add experience, leadership and a winning mentality.
He is 34 years old and perhaps not in the best form, but Italy is not the Premier League because there is much less intensity in Serie A. Not only that, but Walker has still played 15 league games and two Champions League games this season, so he is far from useless.
With him, Milan would not solve their attacking problems – for that, they would have to look elsewhere – but they would have a new starting right-back and at the same time a useful alternative for the centre-backs.

The third route
Milan will decide soon, after the answers from Manchester. A third way, with investments in other players, is not impossible. For this reason, it is better to clarify the Noah Okafor situation after his move to RB Leipzig broke down.
The club will be able to freely change the list of 25 players usable in Serie A until the end of the January window, obviously while respecting the regulations on players who came through the Diavolo’s academy or other academies in Serie A.
From February 4, however, the possible changes will return to being only two. Rashford and Walker, in short, would technically be insertable in Milan’s Serie A squad (only one of the two can arrive) even without Okafor’s departure, but the club would have to leave a player off the list.
Neither make any sense whatsoever. Both in terrible form, both on gargantuan wages, one of them is almost 35. Makes no sense when our biggest problem is clearly midfield exhaustion and no goal scoring strikers except the unused Jovic. We need to bringnin a CM to allow reijnders and Fofana to rest, and someone for th forward line to rest puli/leao as we’re watching the injuries pile up yet again, and not surprisingly either. Our preparation has been nonexistent
lol we got rid of pobega and adli
Milan clearly have very little money; all they have is the club’s prestige of old. The management’s policy seems to be to bring in big name EPL oldies & cast-offs, and to be fair, some of them (Giroud, Pulisic and a few others) have been successful. But I wish the management would go for a few more younger, more exciting, unproven players from smaller leagues around the world…. the next Kvara is out there somewhere….
Really? As a Milan fan, you have not had enough of exciting/unproven players from smaller leagues around the world?
Rashford makes no sense for me, we need goals and I’m not sure he’s the answer. Jonathan David or Lorenzo Lucca make more sense. We need someone who knows where the goal is , someone with movement…
Walker is an odd one, I still think he would make an impact in Serie A, there’s questions around his personal traits but as a player he’s a winner and experienced. He is an upgrade.
Personal traits matter. Emerson seems like a good guy, despite his lack of quality, But Walker isn’t a good guy and he’s been really bad recently.
Instead of Rashford and his baggage, play and develop Camarda & Omoregge
Instead of Walker and his declining ability, play and develop Jimenez.
Juve want Tomorri? Great that will be 40m and Torino sell us Ricci in January (want to verify we can get this done b/f Tomorri goes). We still have Pavlovic as backup to Thiaw/Gabbia and we play/develop Bartesaghi.
If we are going to spend, then lets get a solid midfielder so Rienjders and Fofana can get the rest they need without us having to rely on Benny just yet (he needs some time to come back).
I tend to agree, I think we should go all out for Bellanova and Ricci if we wanted a complete squad that is. Calabria is fine as a no2. We should have signed Retegui two years ago, I was screaming for it back then…we just need a goal scorer…!
However our management doesn’t think like we do…
The problem with playing and developing Jiminez is that if he starts playing really well Real Madrid can then take him back like they did Brahim. Which they are already talking about doing.
Agree. But this is the management that Mr. Cardinale chose…… The worst that happened to us, was, the Chinese first, and now Cardinale. I wish that the Saudi comes and take over. They understand more about football then Cardinale will ever willl!!!!?!
Far too logical. Stop this madness at once.
So if you are a Milan owner, you will sell your best central back defender??
You are such a joke
If you believe Tomorrow is.out best CB then I get where you are coming from.
If – like me – you think he is our third best defender behind Gabbia and Thiaw, then 30m for him is … Erm … No joke.
He’s not improved since the Scudetto season so there is no more upside. Gabbia and Thiaw continue to observably improve month over month.
So yes I’d sell him. But the price to Juve is 40m. Anyone outside of Serie A 30m.
But only if Torino will allow us to take Ricci this window. The goal is to make the team substantially better with minimal disruption.
Bennacer isn’t coming back. Unfortunately his injury seems to have been career-altering, though I hope I’m wrong. Musah is another player that needs to play and develop. Better to sell Bennacer and bring in a truly excellent MF.
Our goal is not to develop players, our goal is the win. You don’t win anything with inexperienced physically under developed teenagers. Heck, we got one of the best kids in the world at his age, and he isn’t scoring in droves to say the least.
I mean if they want to do something and be taken as a serious club and not a laughing stock, they need to consider players on the rise with hunger in their eyes. Not washed up declining players on huge paychecks. These clowns can’t do anything right ffs.
Milan needs to sell before they buy. It seems that the funds of Mr. Cardinale are empty. Therefore we need to sell. Unfortunately this is the president who said, that wants to Milan to be with the top clubs!!! Clubs that are in the relegation part of the standings have money to buy & Milan who wants to be with the top clubs of Europe need to sell to be able to buy. Please Mr.Cardinale learn what the name of AC MILAN means!! AND LEAVE ASAP ……..
I’m sure you’ve seen all the books and everything lmao. get a grip.
Are you well? The club can only spend what they earn. After over €200 million in 18 months, of course money is now limited. A new owner changes nothing.
I don’t understand this transfer strategy. Cardinale Moncada and Furlani-rat need to go.
You don’t understand a lot of things, despite this being explained many times. Furlani deals with contracts. Moncada is the scout. Cardinale, 18 months into his job, has little to do with targets. Changing ownership doesn’t automatically make things better nor is there an experienced owner out there that is willing to buy the club, let alone run it. The club isn’t going to be sold anytime soon so STFU with your whining. Moncada and Ibrahimovic will probably be gone at the end of the season, then we go again. In case you hadn’t realised, that’s how it goes for many clubs.
Whatever happened to Jonathan David… his contract expires in June 2025. It’s the ideal situation.
We should get Tom Bischof or Sverre Nypan to boost our midfielder performance. Then,if we really desperate to get a new striker,we must bring Ivan Azon from Zaragoza or Lorenzo Lucca ASAP.
