Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has said that everyone wants to come to his club amid known interest in AC Milan forward Rafael Leao.
Speaking whilst at the Golden Boy 2022 awards to Tuttosport (via Milan News), Perez made a statement that could concern Milan and the fans in the context of Leao’s future.
The president was not speaking in response to a question specifically about Leao, but when talking about strikers he said that there is never any issue in convincing players to join Real Madrid.
“Real Madrid is a club where everyone wants to come. There is never any difficulty in convincing someone to accept Real Madrid’s offer,” Perez said.
“There is a great organisation, the strategies are always good, the salaries are good, in short, all the great champions want to play for Real Madrid.”
Los Blancos are one of many massive clubs in Europe that are very keen on signing the Portuguese forward and they are perhaps the ones that have shown the most genuine interest.
The Rossoneri are working very hard to get Leao to sign a new contract so that if he were to sign for a team like Real Madrid, it would be for a fee that is representative of his immense talent.

True, but to be fair, the money and power that PSG gave Mbappe was impossible to say no to, even if he actually wanted to go to Real Madrid.
I just don’t believe much in Real’s interest in Leao. IMO it’s all fabricated by his agent to raise his demands.
Madrid already has a better LW in Vini Jr, and Leao doesn’t know how to play as a center forward.
I get that Mbappe is also a LW, but that’s Mbappe, a universal superstar. Even if you don’t really need him, you still sign him just for the marketing, commercial, financial purposes . And Mbappe is actually an upgrade over Vini.
Leao is downgrade and he is not that commercially beneficial. Even though he was named the MVP of serie A, he is not even top 2 in jersey sales for Milan. 2 Milan fans buy Tonali’s jersey to 1 Leao’s. And he is also behind in jersey sales to Zlatan who is 41 and hasn’t played at all this season
Yeah its clearly a truth with modifications because sure many players wouldnt be able to say no them if they come calling but im quite sure that kaka also wanted to stay with us but due to mlans faltering finances and the astronomical sum offered to the club made us sell him which he then accepted.
Many spanish players would reject playing for real madrid as well for the mere fact that they are catalans.
Whether leao would do it is propably a completely different matter but i really dont see them buying him currently, In the end though f we cant agree upon a new deal with him then i personally would cash in on him if an offer of around 100-120 mil euros were to arrive. Hopefully we would see a bidding war in the event we have to let him go.
Kaka was supposed to be the first 100 million player.
The current ManCity owners, when they took over the club back in 08-09, wanted to pair up Kaka with his buddy Robinho and offered 100 million for him, which Berlusconi accepted. But Kaka didn’t want to go to City who at the time were just at the beginning of what they became 5,6 years later. So instead, 6 months later, Milan sold Kaka to Real Madrid for “only” 65 mil.
Yeah i remember that city had made a higher bid the year before but it doesnt exclude that kaka propably preferred staying with us than joining madrid.
Come on Perez,be a friend and offer us at least half amount that u did offered to psg for mbappe or he leave us for free 😔
Milan management should focus on sale of Leao rather then to extend his contract. There are few reason why: it is very risky to go after scudetto this year, because competition is much stronger. Even with Leao there are no guarantee that he Will continue with good display or Milan Will won Serie A this seasom. With Leao we still have holes on our other position, and still we have other players that got less salary then his new bigger one but they work harder then Leao. It is going to be imbalance in team. With money that we generate from Leao salr we Will be able to invest more in summer 2023. To cover 2 or 3 position much more stronger then today and to make better bench like Napoli have today. Napoli is best team in Serie A because of the bench. Naples Coach can play any of 20 player on each position to concurate any team in serie a. The same system works good for Naples and in Champions League.

While you all are wishing for a big money sale on Leao, remember that M & M spent 35 million on a 21 year old Juniper League Champion whose performance so far has been up in the air. That transfer fee might seem like a big one, but in today’s football, it can barely afford two football talents that can hit the ground running.
