Further confirmation has arrived regarding Tijjani Reijnders’ imminent renewal, and AC Milan hope that it will fend off interest from Real Madrid.
As La Gazzetta dello Sport report, it was mainly the decision of Geoffrey Moncada to focus on signing Reijnders in the 2023 summer mercato. He saw the Dutchman as an ideal profile to come in and help rebuild the midfield after Sandro Tonali’s sale, agreeing a €20m deal with AZ Alkmaar.
Now, after a brilliant debut season, his value has tripled to at least €60m, largely because he is already on eight goals this season. The good news is that CEO Giorgio Furlani has practically closed negotiations for the renewal of his contract.
It hasn’t been made official, but the 26-year-old will extend until 2029 (with an option until 2030) and increase his salary to €3.5m net per season plus bonuses. The hope is that this will help keep away the suitors, above all Real Madrid.
Los Blancos were impressed by his performance at the Santiago Bernabeu and the goal that he scored. He is part of a list their management has ahead of next summer when they will have to replace Luka Modric.
However, Reijnders is doing well at Milan, is happy at the club, feels a connection with the fans and with the Dutch tradition in the Rossoneri ranks. Real Madrid, therefore, should prepare to be disappointed.
If RM really wants him and come with the right amount of money, Cardinale will carry him on his back to Madrid.
Show us the money madrid, the price is below Tonali.
Without champion league next season clowdinale still want profitable, the only way is selling star.
some one like Tijji is the last thing real needs atm
Even this management aren’t stupid enough to think they could get away with selling him. The fans would be burning down their door
They got away with selling all of the others.
Most fans on here will react with initial disappointment followed by great excitement over all of the possible new signings we can sign with that money only to the enter into a state of denial when said signings don’t perform before turning on the players who were there before said signings arrived and finally acceptance that maybe the whole thing wasn’t such a great idea, before being distracted by the next big sale….and the process starts again.
Who they sold? And don’t name the obvious one for whom we got a very nice price
The point is though that in Italy you can not turn down offers like the one for Tonali. 60-70mil+ almost guarantees Reijnders leaving. In fact, that is exactly the reason they are renewing him.
Wouldn’t blame Reijnders for leaving either. Fantastic player, deserves to play on a winning team with a winning project.
70M seems like a good deal. Reijnders do grow on trees.
Look koopmeiners has a brother. He’s good, he’s cheap and he’s the guy who Az has that replaced Tijji.
3/4s of the Scudetto winning squad.
Look I know. Unlike the team that’s in 8th place none of them were ‘Milan level’.
Scudeto winning them. Oh I’m so gonna do this one.
Mike. Still here.
Calabria still here.
Tomori still here
Romagnoli left on free to his boyhood club.
Theo still here.
Kessie left for on free for money.
Tonali was sold.
Saladmaker asked to be loaned out. Twice.
Diaz wanted to return to real
Leao still here
Giroud left on free .
So, I’m a bit baffled here. But if I’m reading this right, only one player was sold..how is that 3/4?
Now that was just the most used 11 that season.
I still have names.. to prove you wrong.
Ibra retired. Bout time 2, right?
Messias, was sold
Rebic got sold, (thank cthulhu, right)
Krunic was sold for 3.5M€.
Pobega got himself loaned.
Benacer still here.
Florenzi still here.
Ballo toure. Dude won a scudeto, he must be op af down that left flank, right? Still here, kinda.
Kjaer was let go
Kalulu was loaned, he isn’t coming back (dude was always injured anyway)
Mirante retired I think.
Tata was let go.
From where I’m sitting 3/4 of scudeto winners is still here. The others who left since then were just subs or aren’t even important enough to be mentioned (like Bakayoko. Superb scudeto winner him. We need more of that)
What are you going to do?
Take time out of your day to have an argument about – what?
What are you trying to argue here?
That Milan are in great shape?
Anyway:
– Calabria and Tomori are in the process of being frozen out (seemingly to most people’s delight).
– it’s probably be easier to list who is left: Maignan, Theo, Bennacer and Leao (with the aforementioned Calabria and Tomori being frozen out).
Now why are we doing this again?
I’m not doing anything. I just think you’re st*pid.
Whining about scudeto winners again and again and again like any of them is better than the lot we have right now.
I mean it’s a fact that calabria and tomori have been playing poorly for over a year now. Why should we keep them? And should we play them? Because they were in good form 2 years ago?
Idk why I would even bother replaying to a st*pid f*cker like you. You think ruben is a good player because he scored a few goals last season.. urgh makes me shiver
Well if we were to get an offer of say 75-80 mil then I think they will sell him and maybe even for less.
What if reinders doesn’t want to leave. Will they make him?
Of course Reijnders will have his say but depending on how unscrupulous our management actually is then they could just say he wont play. I’m not saying that would be the case but if a player is told he is not needed any longer then most players will leave on their own free will especially if a better offer with bigger chance of success arrives.
It’s obvious they will sell reijnders and he will end up real Madrid or man city
Reijnders deserves to play for a proper football team, so i won’t be against selling him. he will not win anything with Milan, npr will he ever reach his potential with the current coach and players aroudn him. In a team like Real Madrid or Liverpool he would become a top-3 midfielder in the world
Madrid
Madrid and liverpool who is the top:3 win?
From the news reports Madrid at one point wanted Thiaw, Tomori, Hernandez, Bennacer, Leao, Tonali and so on. They didn’t make a single offer. I’d say Wirtz is again 1st choice for them, if they can’t get him they will focus on other players.
Reijnders is a good player but Wirtz is 21 and already superior to him in every aspect of the game…
