MN: Rebic’s condition is improving – the international break crucial for his recovery

By Oliver Fisher -

Some good news has arrived at last regarding the condition of Ante Rebic who should be able to return after the international break, a report claims.

According to a report from MilanNews, Rebic is still doing individual work at Milanello but his condition is improving. The treatments that the Croatian striker is undergoing to eliminate the small hernia that emerged before Sassuolo-Milan are giving the desired results and he is getting better every day.

The international break will be decisive for Rebic’s complete recovery and will also help in getting him back to 100% in terms of rhythm too, given that he looked very sharp in preseason and scored twice in the opening game of the season against Udinese.

With Divock Origi currently out due to a tendon issue and Zlatan Ibrahimovic not set to return until the new year, having Rebic back would allow Olivier Giroud and Rafael Leao to have some time to breathe.

  1. Rebic has been constantly injured for the past season and a half. Two seasons ago played 27 Serie A games for a total of 1,781 minutes. Last season played 24 Serie A games for a total of 875 minutes. Almost the same amount of games, but half the minutes. That’s because he’s been unfit and thus is limited to substitute appearances. His contract expires in 2025. Next summer is a good time to move him on and bring in a more effective backup for Leao.
