MN: Rebic’s scan shows no issues as questions arise over what happened during Inter game

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli was unable to call upon Ante Rebic for last night’s game against Inter as he went back to the dressing room during half-time warm ups.

According to MilanNews, Rebic underwent a scan this morning to understand the nature of the injury but it showed that he has absolutely no problems, which raises questions about ‘very questionable conduct’.

Rebic has missed 16 games this season and yesterday he would have been called into question at the beginning of the second half to support Olivier Giroud in attack, with the golden chance to be able to reopen a match that had started badly after Lautaro Martinez’s brace in the first half.

Instead Pioli was forced to change his plans due to the sudden news that Rebic had reported a pain. The report adds that what is certain is that the former Eintracht Frankfurt man is ‘not new to questionable attitudes regarding his physical state’, always ‘preferring to take a step backwards than to take one forward’.

  1. How could you benched ante rebic most especially when giroud was playing rubbish after rubbish on the pitch and left him out, when he knows that he is better than giroud even lazy leao

  2. I said in the past that leaving Rebic on the bench constantly will demotivate him. I think he saddly lost the will to play under Pioli now. Similar like Paqueta. To be fair when players like Salamakers are constantly starting it could really be demotavating for better players.

  3. Rotation, rotation, rotation. That’s the key to success. No one should have a free pass to starting 11. Players should have to fight for their spot and given a fair treatment. That hasn’t happened in Milan for quite some time now.

    1. Agreed. No one should be given a free pass to starting 11. But thats how it feels like for some players under Pioli. No hate for Sala i just took him as an example. He hasnt done anything in like what 2 seasons on the RW? And yet he is still the prefered starter on the RW. Makes no sense really.

  4. That is the biggest problem with Pioli.

He always burn his preffered players out without rotation or opportunities for others to be okay.

Then when injury comes, he wants the discarded players to do Miracles.

The Kalulu case is more of the player’s will to succeed than the Coach. Even Gabbia would have become a solid defender by now if not for the Mediocre Pioli

  5. Just because something doesn’t show in a scan, doesn’t mean Rebic wasn’t sore.

I still hope we move him on at season’s end.

  6. Come on. Rebic always was a fighter. He never gave up against Juve or even Liverpool and he wouldn’t get easily scared against Inter as well. I guess he may have behind-the-scenes problems with Pioli considering the coach prefers other players over Rebic. I think Pioli should have used Rebic as CF instead of going with Giroud all the time.
