CorSport: Rebic heads into winter training camp in search of consistency

By Oliver Fisher -

The second part of the season will be crucial for a lot of AC Milan players but especially for Ante Rebic given his mixed start to the 2022-23 campaign.

This morning’s edition of Corriere dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) talks about Rebic and remarks how he is no stranger to moments of difficulty, especially last season. However, the Croatian has already scored more than he did in the last campaign after the brace against Udinese in the first round of action and the goal against Empoli, dating back to two months ago.

Despite a slightly better tally thus far, the former Eintracht Frankfurt still lacks consistency but the hope is that the upcoming friendlies over the winter training camp against Arsenal and Liverpool in Dubai and then after Christmas against PSV in Netherlands will help.

They will be important matches for the team but also for the winger himself to find his confidence again, especially given that Milan will face Salernitana away at the beginning of January, a fixture that Rebic actually scored against last season.

Goals are not the only target though, as Rebic also wants to cross the line of 300 official appearances in his career. His role may be slightly different from now as Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Divock Origi are able to support Olivier Giroud, so he should return to his preferred left wing spot.

  1. As soon as Rebic convinces everyone he’s washed that’s when he’ll score a crucial goal. Unfortunately it’s time Milan look for someone more consistent
