Report: AC Milan could make a move for Thiago Silva amid defensive crisis

By Madison Derian-Toth -

With Caldara being sidelined for up to three months, AC Milan are going to have to find some depth by picking up a central defender in the January transfer window.

Currently, manager Rino Gattuso only has Alessio Romagnoli, Musacchio, and Zapata to cover the CB position. According to reports coming out of Italy, Leonardo and Maldini are looking at Thiago Silva as a quick fix for this problem.

Silva left the club in 2012 when he joined PSG with fellow Milan player Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who is also rumoured to join the Rossoneri this winter. Silva played in 93 games for the Rossoneri while scoring five goals, and was very much a fan favourite.

“Milan belong in my heart and they always will do. It’s never easy to talk about the future, but you never say never in football. Everything’s possible. How could I say no to Milan? They are a side who will always be in my heart. Returning? Maybe at the end of my career, it would be amazing. Everything’s possible,” Silva has previously stated.
