After completing the renewal of Theo Hernandez, AC Milan are also working on locking down Ismael Bennacer. Negotiations between the parties are well underway and the contract signing is imminent, a report claims.
The midfielder has made 27 appearances for the Rossoneri this season and has only missed two games due to injury, which is a good sign. Last campaign, he suffered a few injuries and was out for a total of 25 games.
Bennacer’s growth was thus a bit interrupted but he seems to be on the track now, which Milan have acknowledged. According to Nico Schira, the renewal talks have gone so well that a contract signing is imminent.
The Algerian midfielder will see his salary go from €1.5m per year to €3.2m per year, which isn’t as much as Hernandez but still a significant increase. The new deadline will be 2026 and the €50m release clause in his current contract will be removed.
In other words, should it go through, Milan have done very well to lock down another one of their future and current stars.
