Report: Chelsea man pushing for Milan move – Blues willing to sell to fund Havertz deal

Tiemoue Bakayoko is not giving up on his hopes of securing a return to AC Milan this summer, according to one transfer source.

A number of sources have reported that the Frenchman is intent on rejoining Milan in the upcoming transfer window, with MilanNews claiming that the club’s management dream of creating a Bennacer-Bakayoko pairing in midfield, as part of Rangnick’s new-look 4-4-2 system.

TMW reported last week that Bakayoko will be sold by the Premier League side during the upcoming window after he returned from Monaco, who opted not to use their option to buy, with Milan preparing a substantial package to tempt him back.

According to Alessandro Jacobone on Twitter, Bakayoko is continuing to push for a return to Milan and Chelsea would be willing to sell for around €18-20m as they need to raise money to win the race for Kai Havertz of Bayer Leverkusen.

On the salary issue, the player has given the green light to spread his current wages so they are €4m-a-year for four years, while Milan are looking to get him down to €3m plus bonuses, while there is competition also from Real Betis and Valencia.
