TMW: Wheels in motion as Milan prepare €36m package to sign Chelsea midfielder

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have a concrete interest in bringing Tiemoue Bakayoko back from Chelsea in the summer transfer window, a report claims.

According to the latest from the TMW network, Bakayoko will be sold by the Premier League side during the upcoming window after he returned from Monaco, who opted not to use their option to buy after the Ligue 1 season was cancelled early.

The Rossoneri have a vision: to build a midfield with Bakayoko and Bennacer that would be perfect for Ralf Rangnick’s idea of a 4-2-3-1 system.

The fact the 25-year-old currently earns €6.5m-a-year at Chelsea is a problem. Milan could propose a spread of the current contract until 2024 meaning his salary would be €4m per year, while the Blues are demanding €20m for the sale.

Nicolo Schira stated on Twitter last week that Milan are in talks over Bakayoko’s return and Chelsea are willing to sell for a fee of €20-25m. In addition, the Rossoneri management are working on a plan to spread his salary over a four year deal, to €4m-a-year.
